HIALEAH, FL. - The gym inside Florida Memorial University turned into lob city and the ASA Miami basketball team was the host. Eugene Joseph and Darius Sawyer were frequent flyers all night long during a 92-80 win over Victory Rock Prep Monday night. The Silver Storm recorded a season high 15 dunks and Joseph led all scorers with 25 points, which is also a season high.
Victory Rock managed to stay in fighting distance until halftime with the score 38-37. ASA turned it up in the second half leading at one point by as many as 18 before Coach Dubuisson removed the starters from the game. That charge by ASA was in large part due to Darius Sawyer going off with 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
"We are too inconsistent right now as a team." Dubuisson said after game Monday night. "When we get going and share the ball offensively, we have a chance to compete with anyone. However, we also get stuck in mud playing 'hero ball' too much at times."
Coach Dubuisson hopes that his team can figure out their identity and stick to it when conference play starts off in January.
- Braithe Ferguson recorded six blocks which is the most in a game this season for an ASA Miami player

- After struggling from the field early on, Braithe Ferguson has shot 53 percent in his last three games (10-19)
