Anthony Gomes Earns Spot in LOC Top 40 Player Rankings

HIALEAH, FL. - ASA Miami sophomore guard Anthony Gomes has been ranked the 39th best JUCO player in the state of Florida by Lineage of Champions. Each player being ranked is eligible to transfer to a four year school next fall. LOC's ranks are based off evaluations in ability, potential, production and projection. They will continue to update the rankings through each round of conference play. The final player rankings will drop following the conclusion of the Region VIII Tournament.

Gomes is currently leading ASA in scoring, averaging 15 points per-game. His season-high for points scored in a game is 27. He has reached that twice this season against Sante Fe (11.4.17) and Hillsborough (11.18.17), respectively. Also, Gomes has an opportunity to become ASA Miami's all-time leading scorer this season. Currently, Gomes has 482 career points and trails the school's leading scorer, Dextor Foster with 574 points. Gomes would have to average just over six points per-game in the 15 remaining games this season.
