HIALEAH, FL – Led by Malik Brikat's 14 points and 13 rebounds and Sebastian Jean's 11 points, 14 rebounds and five assists, ASA Miami snapped a three-game losing streak with a much-needed 82-68 victory over visiting Triple Threat Academy Wednesday night at The Dent.

The 6-foot-8 Brikat, who set a new Silver Storm men's basketball record for rebounds in a single game (18) this past Saturday against Palm Beach State College, and the 6-foot point guard Jean seemed to be having a competition to see who could gobble up the most errant shots – with the two combining to secure more loose balls (27) than Triple Threat's starting five (22).

Jean, who also ranks in the top three in program history for a single-game rebound total thanks to a 14-board performance earlier this season, also tied for a game-high two blocks. Forward Marko Jovanovic and sophomore guard Matt Maturah also finished with double-digit points totals – totaling 12 and 11 points respectively – while 10 different Silver Storm players recorded points Wednesday.

Having lost two of the past three games by a combined nine points, ASA looked like a team that was hungry to be on the winning side of the scoreboard again. After holding a 12-8 lead six minutes into the game, the Silver Storm went on a 17-4 run over the following six minutes and opened as large as a 20-point lead in the first half before taking a 43-25 lead into halftime.

Triple Threat showed a bit of fight in the second half, cutting ASA's lead down to seven twice once Silver Storm head coach Jean Dubuisson went deep into his bench. Dubuisson re-inserted a handful of his starters and the Silver Storm quickly re-established control and pulled away from the postgraduate team.

Up Next: The Silver Storm (5-16) will host conference rival Broward College this Saturday at 4 p.m. ASA Miami defeated Broward College 90-71 on its home floor on Jan. 9  and the Silver Storm will look to earn their second conference victory of the season when the two play the second of their three meetings this season.
