Tampa, FL. - The ASA Miami Track & Field team competed at the USF Invitational this weekend. The two-day event featured 15 schools from across the country. Some schools participating included Florida State University, Rutgers University and the University of Minnesota.
Ronique Todman continues to make a name for himself this season in just his second outdoor track meet. The Virgin Islands native qualified in another event for Nationals, this time in the 200 meter sprint. Todman ran a time of 21.34 and that was good enough for second place among all participants. Todman has now qualified to run both the 200m & 400m sprints at Nationals in Hutchinson, Kansas.
On the women's side, Kala Penn won the triple jump for the second consecutive meet with a jump of 12.00 meters. Also, Penn finished sixth in the 100m sprint and set a personal record this season with a time of 12.23.
Up next for the Silver Storm is the Embry Riddle Spike Class on Saturday, April 1st in Daytona Beach, Florida.
