ASA Miami's women's tennis team hit the road Thursday for Altamonte Springs, Florida as the team is looking to capture third Region VIII Tournament title in the past four years.

The Lady Silver Storm won the tournament, which features every two-year college in the state of Florida, in 2016 and 2017, but took home the runner-up trophy in 2018. That second-place finish has given ASA Miami's women and head coach Brian Slack a bit of a chip on their shoulders as they prepare to take the courts at Sanlando Park.

ASA Miami lost to Hillsborough Community College on the final match of the tournament – a flight-three doubles match that last just under four hours – in 2018. The Hawks have been a bit of a thorn in ASA's side over the past 18 months. Hillsborough defeated the Silver Storm in both of their 2018 regular season matches in addition to the regional tournament defeat. ASA Miami split this year's regular season matches with Hillsborough – winning at home 7-2 on March 15 and losing 6-3 on the road two weeks later.

Surely getting another shot at Hillsborough – especially if it's in the tournament final – would be an ideal scenario for Slack's squad, but the main focus remains the same as it was from the beginning of the season: win everything.
